Field Construct successfully delivered the new Djarragun College Boys’ Boarding Facility – Stage 1, providing high-quality accommodation and amenities to support the College’s expanding boarding community. The project involved constructing a two-storey boarding complex that includes student bedrooms, supervisor accommodation, utility spaces, common and recreational areas, and administrative offices, all connected to the existing Girls’ Boarding facility.

The works encompassed comprehensive architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems, with a focus on functionality, safety, and cultural sensitivity. Notably, the project incorporated:

• Modern air-conditioning, ventilation, and solar PV systems for energy efficiency.
• Integrated security, CCTV, fire detection, and ICT infrastructure.
• Landscaped outdoor spaces and carparking facilities.
• Cultural heritage monitoring in collaboration with the Dulabed Malanbarra Yidinji Aboriginal Corporation.

This project demonstrates Field Construct’s dedication to sustainable building practices, Indigenous engagement, and delivering lasting community infrastructure in Far North Queensland.
